StarMade Guides

Welcome to the StarMade Guides! This is a replica of the in-game documentation built by the community to help players get started in StarMade. The old documentation can be found here, but is not maintained. For the most up to date information please refer to this site or to the in-game guides. Click on the Introduction to get started.

Downloading StarMade

While the Steam version of Starmade costs money currently, the Demo version on Steam is identical to the official release. You can also download the game for free off of the official website. If you wish to support StarMade you may wish to consider supporting the development of the new StarMade Galaxy rewrite.

Launcher Versions

The newly created StarMade Launcher v4 has been released on Steam as well as the official downloads page. If you've had StarMade installed for some time please make sure to update to the new launcher to keep your game up to date; Steam will do this automatically. Within the new launcher you have the ability to manage multiple installed versions of StarMade, manage your mods, and other settings like java memory allocations.

StarMade Accounts

With the new v4 launcher you can manage multiple StarMade accounts right there in the app. You can also register accounts at the official StarMade account portal online. These accounts are important as they connect your in-game account across servers and can be integrated into the StarMade Discord to verify your in-game username.

System Requirements

Currently StarMade runs on Linux and Windows natively, however MacOS support is somewhat spotty at the time of writting. You can find all the minimum system requirements on the Steam page.
